What exclusive means

An exclusive group contains multiple outcomes where only one outcome should be true. For example, a group can represent several candidates, teams, or choices where exactly one winner is expected. TACO represents these as linked binary markets rather than one isolated market per outcome.

YES bundles and NO shares

In an exclusive group, a NO share for one outcome can be economically similar to a bundle of YES shares for the other outcomes. TACO can support native conversions between these forms without moving collateral. This conversion is useful because it lets users move between equivalent expressions of the same group-level exposure.

Trading in a group

When trading an exclusive market, check:
  • which group the market belongs to
  • the focal outcome you are trading
  • whether group trading and conversion are active
  • how group settlement affects all child markets

Resolution

Exclusive groups use group-aware settlement. Once the group result is finalized, child markets settle consistently with the winning outcome and the configured payout rules.

User risk

Exclusive markets can be harder to reason about than standalone YES/NO markets. You should understand both the individual market price and the group relationship before opening large positions.
